What is the difference between the special lubricants and conventional lubricants in hardware stores?
Special lubricants are high-performance lubricants specifically designed to meet the needs of particular equipment, operating environments, or application requirements. They feature specialized formulations and additives to address challenges that standard lubricants cannot handle. For example, these lubricants may need to withstand extreme high or low temperatures, resist high pressure, repel moisture, or remain stable in harsh chemical environments. Special lubricants are widely used in industries such as aerospace, military equipment, precision industrial machinery, food processing, medical devices, and mining machinery.
The purpose of special lubricants (also known as specialty lubricants) is to provide adequate lubrication and protection in demanding conditions such as heavy loads, high speeds, extreme temperatures, or humid environments. When general-purpose lubricants are used in such special conditions, they may fail, leading to inadequate lubrication, dry wear, frequent replenishment (resulting in high consumption and costs), incompatibility with rubber components, or other issues.
Why should we use specialty lubricants?
1. High and low temperature resistance: can provide stable lubrication effect under extreme temperatures.
2. High-pressure anti-wear: suitable for high-pressure environments and can prevent component wear.
3. Water resistance: Maintain lubricity in wet or underwater environments.
4. Chemical resistance: Stable when exposed to corrosive chemicals.
5. Comply with special regulations: such as food-grade lubricants that comply with hygienic standards for food processing equipment. Many export regulations such as American TSCA, European RoHS, European REACH, etc.
Precise formulations of specialty lubricants can be customized to application needs, providing long-term equipment protection and performance optimization.
