A Rare Glimpse Back at the Early 1990s

In the 1990s, when awareness of food-grade lubrication in Taiwan’s food industry was still relatively limited, Hou Cheng began introducing European food-grade lubricant products to the Taiwan local market and promoting lubrication management practices that met food safety requirements.

In addition to supplying food-grade lubricating oils and greases, we also supported food manufacturers through technical exchanges, equipment lubrication recommendations, product training, and on-site application experience. These efforts helped companies in the food, beverage, dairy, bakery, meat processing, and pharmaceutical industries gradually understand the purpose and proper application of NSF H1 food-grade lubricants.

As food safety management systems such as HACCP and ISO 22000 became more widely adopted, and as international food brands placed greater demands on their supply chains, food-grade lubricants gradually evolved from a solution used by only a limited number of factories into an important standard for food processing equipment maintenance today.

For more than 30 years, Hou Cheng has continued to keep pace with lubrication technology, witnessing the evolution of food-grade lubrication management in Taiwan from simple “equipment maintenance” into an essential part of “food safety risk management.”
